Stayed here for two nights at A-20. I thought it was well worth the money. You have direct access to the pond. At Rollins Pond, you have some privacy between the camp sites, unlike Fish Creek where you are side-by-side. There is absolutely great kayaking here. I would highly recommend.
Absolutely beautiful campground! It's easy to pick a site that is secluded (a few websites out there with pictures of each campsite, if you're booking ahead.) Most sites are very wooded, not overused. Bathrooms are clean & fully functional (but have a funky smell), showers are hot & free, staff is friendly, other campers seem to be very respectful.
Been going here for over 20 years. It's still the campground that I measure all others to.
This was our second trip to Rollins Pond. We had an excellent time! From check-in to check-out, our stay and the staff were excellent. One caveat: mosquitoes were in full force, maybe because of the recent rain. Make sure you have bug spray! Highlights: playground at the beach, boat rental, and trip to nearby Wild Walk | Wild Center (highly recommended). Enjoy!
Rollins Pond campground is a wonderful introduction to the Adirondacks. It is located within easy access to miles of terrific hikes and allows paddling to several small and large waterways. Though this campground is quite popular, the sites are nicely spaced to allow some level of privacy. There is a large shower room for the entire campground, that is in pretty good condition. Usually 1 or 2 stalls are out of order or doors don't lock. The water temperature is fixed at the main, (you do not control your spigot), which can be tricky. There are several bathrooms with running water throughout the campground which is a great luxury. The sinks have cold water only, no soap or towels provided. The staff have always been informed about the area and extremely helpful and pleasant. We love the rolling ice cream truck (real hard packed ice cream) that drives through after dinner, and hope to see a return of the firewood/ice delivery service. Be advised, there are NO dish washing stations at this campground.
With about 75% of the campsites on the water you can't go wrong. No elec or h20 hookups but there are flush toilets in the washrooms every 15 to 20 sites.
